How to Book a PUSPAKOM M.V.15 (Formerly B5) Inspection
Selling a Malaysian-registered private car normally involves an ownership-transfer inspection. The report is called M.V.15, formerly B5. This guide explains booking with PUSPAKOM; it is not a guarantee of the car's overall mechanical condition or a substitute for completing JPJ transfer requirements.
1. Confirm the inspection type
Choose the transfer-of-ownership inspection for the ordinary transfer process. Tell PUSPAKOM about long-expired road tax, changes to the vehicle or other special circumstances before booking. A private vehicle whose road tax expired more than three years ago falls under its Special Inspection guidance.
2. Book through GiCheck
Use the official GiCheck link from PUSPAKOM's website. Select the required inspection, enter the vehicle details requested, and choose an available centre and appointment. Check the details before confirming; do not assume walk-in or mobile availability.
3. Check the charge before payment
PUSPAKOM currently lists the ownership-transfer inspection fee as RM30. Treat this as the stated inspection fee, not an all-inclusive total: check any booking, tax, mobile-service or other applicable charges shown for your booking.
4. Prepare the documents and person bringing the car
PUSPAKOM lists the original registration card or VOC. Keep the booking confirmation and bring the identification required for the person presenting the vehicle. Its FAQ allows a representative to bring a vehicle for inspection, with their details entered in GiCheck and their NRIC or passport available.
Taking a car for inspection is separate from representing its owner in a JPJ transfer. Confirm the owner's and buyer's identity/attendance requirements for the applicable JPJ process; do not assume an inspection representative can complete every step.
5. Arrange safe transport
If road tax has expired, do not simply drive to the appointment. Check suitable transport or the JPJ temporary-permit route, including insurance and the approved journey conditions.
6. Check the result and complete the next step
Allow time for registration, inspection and any follow-up. PUSPAKOM sends a digital report. If the vehicle fails, follow its rectification and reinspection instructions. The dated notice sets M.V.15 validity at 120 days effective 1 July 2026; complete the transfer within the expiry printed on the report.
Mobee's valuation inspection and the statutory transfer inspection serve different purposes. Klang Valley sellers should confirm the sequence and any support available with the Mobee team before making arrangements.
